Visual CO2 is a signalling device for the level of CO2 concentration in the air, using three light indicators. It also has temperature and humidity measurement that can be viewed through a mobile application.

The design of the device generates a flow of air throughout the interior of the beacon due to natural convection. The ambient air is captured through three holes located in the lower part, and circulates all the way across the interior until it exists through a regulating valve located in the upper part.

Inside the base is the CO2 sensor that, using NDIR infrared absorption technology, allows the concentration in parts per million to be measured very precisely according to the amount of infrared light absorbed by the CO2 particles present in the air.

A micro controller manages the sensor signals and controls the beacon lighting based on CO2 concentration levels.

These thresholds have been defined based on recent studies by various international organizations that relate the concentration of CO2 with the risk of transmission of COVID-19.

Controlling the CO2 level allows, in addition to improving people’s comfort and health, optimizing energy consumption related to heating and cooling systems.

The device also measures ambient temperature and humidity, and has a wireless communication systems that allows it to be connected to any mobile device that has the Sensirion  MyAmbience APP installed, which can be downloaded for free.

Dust Sensing Kit

Particulate matter concentration is the sum of all solid and liquid particles suspended in air many of which are hazardous. This complex mixture includes both organic and inorganic particles, such as dust, pollen, soot, smoke, and liquid droplets. These particles varygreatly in size, composition, and origin. Particle pollution includes ,5 micrometers and smaller than 10 micrometersdiameters that are 2.5 micrometers and smaller.

Nihon Kasetsu’s airQpm sensor allows the continuous monitoring of dust concentration in the air. Its optical sensor transforms scattered light into electrical signals which are processed to provide mass measurements. This sensing  cell  calculates  the  respective  PM  values  according  to  the  method defined  by European Standard EN  481. Through digital serial communication, PM1,  PM2.5  and  PM10  values  are  sent  simultaneously  to the eComo04 Compact.

Those particles damage the environment and are directly related with serious human health problems. Prolonged exposure to coarse particles, called PM10, can irritate eyes, nose or throat, and provokes breathing diseases. Fine particles, PM2.5, can get intothe deep parts of your lungs, even end in your blood stream.

Gas Sensing Kit

Air pollution is caused by the emission to the atmosphere of certain substances which, alone or through chemical reaction, can damage human health and the environmental. Increased awareness of this health danger, has raised significantly the importance of monitoring the quality of the air and the concentration of pollutant gases.

The single pollutants causing most damage to ecosystems, human health and materials are nitrogen oxides, sulphur dioxide, ammonia, carbon oxides and ground level ozone.

Nihon has developed a complete range of gas sensing kits to monnitor the air quality in all kinds of environments. The gas sensing family airQ offers a simple, versatile and reliable solution to monitor, both indoor and outdoor, the concentration of gases in cities, construction and civil engineering projects, industry etc.

Noise Sensing Kit

For noise level monitoring

Sound emissions are not only annoying, but also pose a health risk(they can cause sleep dysfunction, stress and hypertension, for example), and may even cause irreversible damage in humans. It is therefore essential to control the noise levelto which people are exposed in all environments that may pose a risk.

Examples of risk environments are those with machinery operating in industry, construction and mining; and these are dangerous not only for workers but also for neighbours and bystanders. Other examples are any urban area exposed to vehicle traffic, aircraft at or near airports and railway lines.

There are several regulations that determine the maximum levels allowed in work environments, built-up areas or wildlife zones, for example. To ensure health and safety compliance with legal limits, noise measurement equipment must be accurate, reliable and consistent over time.

NIHON KASETSU has developed such a device for measuring noise accurately and reliably, while complying with the European standard IEC61672on acoustic measurement devices. Its extreme simplicity and robustness make it ideal for measuring noise in any built-up area or construction, mining or industrial environment, as well as under the most adverse weather conditions.
